The advanced Apprenticeship in Business Administration will help Apprentices learn what it takes to be in both a leadership and an administrative role.
Business administration involves not only keeping a company operating effectively, but also organising business management and operations, including the efficient organisation of people and resources.
Business administrators have to understand the needs of both the people they are working with, and the business they are working for. This is critical if they want to carry out their jobs effectively, which often involves scheduling and taking part in meetings as well as acting on behalf of the company they are working for.Apprenticeship Information
This Level 3 Apprenticeship in Business and Administration is worth 40 credits
This course involves between 167 and 272 guided learning hours.
There are no mandatory entry requirements for this apprenticeship, however, candidates should display an interest in administration as well as the chosen path way that the candidate selects.
Potential apprentices are expected to have at least basic numeracy and literacy skills to be able to cope with their job.
Additionally those candidates which are currently in an administrative role, or have some experience in such roles, are more likely to be successful in their qualification.

Further or higher education to undertake business or non-business related qualifications, including:
- Foundation Degrees in areas such as Business, Business Management, and Business Administration
- A range of Business and Management undergraduate programmes
- A range of Business Professional Qualifications at Level 4 and above
With additional training, Advanced Apprentices may be able to progress in their careers to roles including Office Manager, Administration Team Leader, Personal Assistant or a wide range of managerial roles within the business.

This role involves making and receiving telephone calls, managing diaries, organising travel, organising meetings and events, handling correspondence, creating documents and developing presentations.
This role involves dealing with internal and external correspondence, organising meetings, taking minutes at meetings, managing diaries, producing documents, transcribing notes and managing information.
What will an Apprentice learn on this Apprenticeship?
Like all apprenticeships this one contains; a knowledge based element, a competence based element, Skills (ICT, English and Maths) a module on Employment Rights and Responsibilities, and a module on Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS).
The knowledge based element of this apprenticeship will take the apprentice through the advanced business administration techniques as they learn how to be the backbone of any successful company.
The competency part of this qualification will demonstrate putting new skills into actual use and gaining experience.
The skills part of this qualification will bring ICT, English and Maths skills up to the necessary level needed to carry out the role.
Finally the Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS) part of the course will teach generic skills which will be helpful in their day to day life.
