Our Commercial Manager, Mike Burridge, recently addressed the House of Lords on the subject of Apprenticeships and the positive work delivered by Capital Apprenticeships.
Mike was delighted to be invited to present following an invitation by our partners, Kazuri Housing, a charitable trust for women who have suffered domestic violence.
Capital Apprenticeships currently supports Kazuri Housing’s employability training programme, by taking referrals of women needing employment and placing them on our Apprenticeships schemes. Since the partnership began, more than 80 women have been enrolled on our Apprenticeship programmes.
MPs present at the event included Tory MP, Oliver Covile and Labour MP, Steven Timms. It was also attended by CEOs from a number of London corporates which support the work of Kazuri Housing, including JP Morgan, Carillion Services, Property Moose, Bright Horizons, Hillingdon Borough Council and CIVA.
Mike said: “The focus of my presentation was to describe how Apprenticeships can change people’s lives and to showcase the good work being delivered by Capital Apprenticeships in partnership with Kazuri Housing.
“It was a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate how Apprenticeships can be of major benefit to employers and candidates alike. I also wanted to convince the companies present that we can help them achieve both their commercial and social responsibilities – I am pleased to say that we have already committed, in principal, to start Apprenticeship programmes with them.”
